My chihuahua keeps scratching her harness, how do I make her stop?
I have a tiny 3 month old chihuahua and i bought her a cute harness instead of a collar, but she keeps scratching it, and its getting messed up! I could always buy her another one but I noticed even when i take it off she scratches that same spot! I wanna get her little sweaters and shirts, etc. but i am afraid she is going to ruin them! Help?
Many dogs find harnesses “itchy” or irritating and they take some getting used to. But, if she keeps scratching in the same spot you should check that area for signs of redness, swelling, etc.
Could be something on the harness that is irritating that one specific spot, or she could have a pre existing problems such as a flea or insect bite.
Check the harness thoroughly and if you’re sure there’s nothing wrong with it or the dog and that the harness fits correctly, then she just needs to get used to wearing it.
